APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR
Lord Jonathan Kestenbaum is a Labour Peer and Chief Operating Officer of RIT Capital. Kestenbaum has previously served as Chief Executive of the United Jewish Israel Appeal and Chief Executive of the Office of Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks. He has also served as Vice President of the Jewish Leadership Council, and was a signatory of the Labour Peers letter which accused Jeremy Corbyn of fostering antisemitism within the party during his leadership.
In April 2020 Kestenbaum was present on a conference call made by Keir Starmer and Angela Raynor to representatives of the British Jewish community. Kestenbaum and Labour Together director Trevor Chinn are described as “advisors”. Former Labour Together director Morgan McSweeney is also present.
From 2003 to 2010, Kestenbaum was a director of the British Israel Communications and Research Centre (BICOM), an organisation Peter Oborne describes as ” Britain’s major pro-Israel lobby“.
Kestenbaum’s only registered political donation is £5,000 to Keir Starmer during his leadership campaign.
