An evangelical organisation, founded by a Trump-supporting Nigerian cleric who describes homosexuality as “abominable”, has been running a dark money campaign on UK Facebook promoting an explicitly conservative religious agenda.
Plain Truth Now claims to be a Non-Governmental Organisation. However. The group does not disclose who was responsible for creating, managing or funding its activities.
The Free Press? can now reveal that the individuals behind the campaign belong to Living Christ Mission, a Nigerian evangelical Christian organisation, established and run by His Grace The Most Reverend Professor Daddy Hezekiah.
The Plain Truth Now FB page has spent £1,579 since August 2020. The 74 ads seek to directly influence UK voters during elections, and on wider social issues. These include ads attacking Gender Recognition legislation in Scotland and the LGBTQ+ movement. Others express support for Israel’s contested claim of ownership over Jerusalem, as well as supporting populist conservative political figures such as Donald Trump and Boris Johnson.
At time of writing, neither the Plain Truth Now FB page nor website provide any information on the organisation’s links to Living Christ Mission, or HGTMRP Daddy Hezekiah. None of the content or articles on the FB page or website identify who wrote them.
Those responsible for the activities of Plain Truth Now did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
PLAIN TRUTH NOW?
“Dark Money” describes activity in which funding is provided to political parties, organisations or groups through mechanisms which are purposefully designed to obscure or disguise the original source of this funding. The intent is to anonymously target voters, and directly influence elections and political discourse, without those voters becoming aware of the operatives and interests ultimately responsible for targeting them.
The Plain Truth Now FB page was created in June 2020 and currently has 2.7k followers. The group claims that “It is our duty to speak and stand for the truth at all times….” The campaign is managed by seven admins (three from the US and two each from Nigeria and the UK). The campaign ads overwhelmingly target English FB users in the 45+ age bracket.
In an ad that ran between Aug 29th and Sept 2nd 2021, Plain Truth Now criticised proposed changes to gender identity and LGBTQ legislation that were to be debated by the Scottish Parliament. The ad stated that:
“The campaign of LGBT is destructive to humanity! …The people pushing this agenda are predatory paedophiles, misusing and abusing words like “inclusivity”, “diversity” and “respect” to further their twisted aims.”
LGBT is trying to dismantle everything natural in humans and our world in general, by attempting to dress it up, as they typically have since they started this illogical show, in benevolent intention when it is the antithesis of it.
Only 9% of those who saw the ad actually live in Scotland.
Similar ads support the authoritarian right-wing governments in Hungary and Poland, and their opposition to LGBTQ legislation from the EU. Plain Truth Now also regularly criticises Joe Biden, and zealously supported Donald Trump as President.
Other ads include support of hard-line Israeli policy in Palestine and Middle East. A recent post titled “Amnesty International or Anti-Semite International?”, claimed that:
“ignoring all mounds of archaeological evidence stretching several thousand years that solidify Israel’s endangered rights to existence and self-defence within the territory…Drenched in the victimhood narrative peddled by pro-Palestinian media and renowned antisemites, Amnesty International accuses Israel of racial segregation but cannot capture the healthy coexistence in government and amongst hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.”

It’s astonishing that most of the nations that bought the narrative peddled by the extremists that Palestine land was stolen from them by Israel do not care to pause for a moment to decipher the rhetoric: How true is it that Palestine land was stolen from them? Who are the aggressors in the region in question? Who are the apostles of democracy, human rights and good governance in the Middle East.
Plain Truth now posted an ad in late December 2021 supporting Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party, arguing that:
They must be conscious of this Left Wing wave of influence, division and wokism originating from the United States which has now infiltrated the UK Labour Party, the Greens, the SNPs and inside the EU evidently leading to an all out campaign against any Trump era Conservative politician or Conservative school of thought or belief.
In a FB post from February 2022, PTN refer to Keir Starmer as a “Jeremy Corbyn wannabe” and “a famished leech” whilst declaring that “Like Big Ben over the River Thames, Boris’s accomplishments with Brexit and his stellar management of the deadly COVID-19 stand as two great achievements easily dwarfing all Labour party’s propositions.”
LIVING CHRIST MISSION INC
In the UK, Living Christ Mission is registered as both a private company with Companies House and as a Charity with the Charity Commission. The individual named as responsible for the PTN ad campaign is Samuel Anyaegbu. He is listed as both a Director of the company and as chair of the charity. Daddy Hezekiah is a listed trustee of the charity.
The contact address given for the FB ads was, until 2019, that of Living Christ Mission Inc. The last available financial records for the company reveal that the declared assets of LCM have averaged over £9k per year. The charity commission records however show the charity wing’s gross income was over £44k for the last recorded financial year. The charity is currently 200 days overdue reporting its accounts for the last financial year.
